Progress in Witchspire is gated as much by materials as by combat skill. Main quests quietly demand ingots, ritual components, and biome-specific flora long before the game explains where to farm them efficiently. Scattered wiki notes often list item names without routes, hearth levels, or the one-time areas that bundle multiple drops together. This farming guide consolidates community-tested paths for every major Early Access resource — from starter wood and Spirit Dust to Azure Flowers on the desert river route. Each section links to our Materials database entry so you can verify sources after patches. Read Controls & Survival Basics first if you have not unlocked furnaces, pickaxes, or Hearth tier upgrades yet.
Wood & Premium Wood
Pick up fallen branches from the ground or chop small trees with a basic sickle crafted at the Workbench. Premium Wood comes from larger trees that also drop apples when felled.
Craft your first sickle at the Workbench before serious logging.
Premium trees are visibly bigger than standard saplings.
Spirit Dust
Drops from Mini-Bro enemies in combat. The tutorial phase introduces this early — if you skipped it, hunt any small hostile mob near starter zones.
Charcoal
Burn standard wood in a furnace, or head to the Ink Crater (Inky Vent) and chop flaming trees for both Wood and Charcoal in one swing.
Flaming trees in the Ink Crater are a one-time clear — but a full sweep can yield charcoal, wood, copper ore, and a regional familiar in a single trip.
Assign a familiar to the furnace to speed up smelting.
Copper Ingots
Unlock the Pickaxe blueprint in the central skill tree (Hearth level 2+), mine orange-veined rock nodes — common near flame biomes and the Ink Crater — then smelt ore in a Furnace fueled with charcoal.
Unlock the Furnace blueprint from the same skill tree branch.
The Ink Crater route bundles wood, charcoal, copper, and familiar hunting in one run.
Iron Ingots
With pickaxe and furnace already online, mine iron nodes near the Witchspire (where story keys are inserted) or in the cave the main quest leads you to for a hidden key.
Smelt raw ore the same way as copper — charcoal in, ingots out.
Gold Ingots
Reach Mining skill level 10 and Blacksmithing level 4 (both level passively as you gather and craft), craft an upgraded pickaxe, then mine gold deposits on the beach from the comet-chase story sequence.
This is a late Early Access gate — plan a dedicated farming session before returning to base.
Silver Ingots
Mine silver ore with your Pickaxe, then smelt at the Furnace — same workflow as copper and iron. Gold appears on many early routes; silver does not. Start from Mirella's Shop area: head to the map marker northwest of the shop and search the northern desert cliffsides. Once Eastell is open, check cliff nodes around the Mira Isles Flight Pillar as a follow-up route.
Silver is location-specific — narrow the route instead of sweeping the whole desert.
See the Silver Ingot database entry for full farming tips.
Ritual Candles
Unlock the Alchemy Circle from the central skill tree (Hearth level 2+), build the station, and craft candles from wood.
Horn & Rich Spirit Pollen
Roam highland areas until you find the large horned ram. The kill drops a Horn plus enriched Spirit Pollen.
Beeswax
Farm Rhirrgar during the main story boss fight, or clear Froblin camps in his region.
If beeswax doesn't drop, leave the area and return after mobs respawn.
Plant a temporary Hearth near the Froblin camp to shorten repeat runs.
Alder Wood
Chop large white trees with purple foliage using the Spirit-Felling Sickle. Search dark-purple zones on the map; unlock the sickle at Hearth level 2 and Woodcutting level 5.
Azure Flower
Found in the desert near oases. Pass the Froblin camp, follow a river with multiple waterfalls, and reach Mirella's shop — Azure Flowers cluster around the storefront.
Also tied to the Activate the Bridge quest route — gather while tracing root pathways south of Mira Isle.
Carapace
Farm along northern shorelines — head due north from many early Hearth positions to reach a long coastal stretch. Defeat Spectra (crab-like beach mobs) for Carapace drops; the rate is generous but not guaranteed every kill.
Walk the coast to chain spawns, then revisit the same beach after respawns.
See the Carapace database entry for route screenshots and farming tips.
Wrapping up
Efficient farming in Witchspire is about chaining locations: the Ink Crater run covers charcoal, copper, and wood in one trip; desert river progression yields Azure Flowers while advancing bridge quests. Upgrade tools before grinding rare tiers — gold ingots and Alder Wood both expect mid-game skill levels. Keep a familiar on your furnace and revisit one-time zones knowing they will not respawn. For capture-focused farming, pair this guide with Familiar Hunting & Incense, and use the WitchspireDB calculator when planning multi-tier Hearth upgrades.
